Gone Fishin' 03:50
What I'm gonna do, it's for my sanity' sake I'm gonna sit down in a row boat on a little blue lake I'm gonna pack me some lunch and a six-pack of beer I'll be in meditation just as long as I'm there I'm in the Buddha blue light, I'm gone fishin' I turned out the lights and I closed up the store I made a sign and now it's hung on the door Go and read it, it's right to the point No use knockin' cuz I ain't in the joint I'm in the Buddha blue light, I'm gone fishin' There's no political barb wire No hearing voices get shrill No social media candy To fatten me up for the kill I won't debate with my old aunt Inez She's always quoting what the weatherman says I do not care if it thunders and rains Inez would come with me if she had any brains, but she don't That's alright, I'm gone fishin' Oh yeah, I'm gone fishin' I'll read a book and I'll take in some sun Maybe write some lyrics to what hummingbirds hum I'll catch some fish I could throw in a sack But I don't bother cuz I toss 'em all back I'm in the Buddha blue light, I'm gone fishin' Here, there ain't no winners or losers There ain't no victory or loss And I'm free to grab me a fresh beer Without signing a form for the boss I'll look for restaurants on my way back to home It's not cuz I am worn out from me being alone Got no fish on me, you can come take a look It's just that Inez, she never learned how to cook But that's all right with me, I'm gone fishin' Oh yeah, we should all go fishin'

Nova Days 03:39
I passed by my old house, i did not knock on the door It belongs to someone else, it’s no longer mine But my ghost is up there now and he walks the second floor These are my memories through the tricks of time Remember old Prince John, I was present at his death They say he never made a joyful sound But he whispered “I loved them all” with his dying breath You never really know someone until the sun goes down Let’s speak of nova days when we walked in style Oh how we wished that feast would never end It was forever, yes, if only for a while When we’d rise and watch the morning doves descend We were so dazzled by the great blue blanket sky When we played love charades by the riverside The afternoon passed on like a long and drawn out sigh And all our noble dreams were justified

ALL THE WAY HOME We'll stumble and fall down, we'll think it's the end, Then we'll rise up and walk and we'll stumble again, Over the rivers and ravines and bridges, While the angel of time keeps turning the pages And we pass through the ages All the way home - On through the fields of forest and stone, Past the sun-buttered pastures where golden bees drone, Sometimes we're happy and sometimes we're hungry, Sometimes we're calm and sometimes we're angry And scream at the blank sky And weep before sleeping All the way home - On past the silos now reddened with rust, Through the ruins of great cities now crumbled to dust, Day over day and night after nightfall, We're all going home, we're hearing a drum call From a far distant morning To sharp edge of evening Through rivers of moonlight And all the way home - Keep walking on, Toward glow of the dawn, All the way home - Come let me help you, you help me in kind, Then let's gather the stragglers and leave no one behind, Through the snow of the mountains, through the valley of dry bones, Past the Idaho ghost towns where a cold lonely wind moans, And sometimes there's laughter And sometimes there's sorrow, But never forgetting The gift of tomorrow All the way home -

RIDING THE LIGHT One time, it was long ago, we stumbled, and yeah, we took a fall In night where the harsh winds blow, we couldn't walk, but we found we could crawl, One thing we didn't know, one fact that slowly came into sight, In that night we still had the breath of life, We didn't know we were riding the light - Remember that one time when the roof caved in because of the snow, We didn't have one dime, we couldn't think of one place where we could go, But it turned out just fine, it was another act and part of the show, Now we know, though we were slung down low, To and fro we were riding the light - Here comes that sun again, looks like we're gonna have a good day, But at a count of ten we know the clouds could blow it away, We'll go flow with the wind, we'll let the fates all have their say, Yeah, oh hey, what's it matter anyway, It's okay, you know, we can always pray, So it's all right, we'll be riding the light -

Long Ago 03:45
I have been walking through the pagan night I've been relying on my second sight I gotta say the stars look bright and knowing I'm out here looking for my key chain girl I know she's somewhere in this insane world She wears a necklace with a precious pearl that's glowing I won't be talking bout what I don't know Won't be revealing what's not mine to show Hope you remember that I told you so, my baby I'm gonna find you, yeah, I know I will You could be living on some lonely hill Or maybe married down in Charlottesville, just maybe They say, water for the wicked and its wine for the wise Me, I'll drink either, they're the same in my eyes I studied love and I have studied war I studied waves out on a Key West shore I knocked on my true love's front door, she did not answer Long ago in San Francisco Bay I saw Dizzy Gillespie, yeah, I heard him play He got me thinking in a different way, forever I'm waiting in the pasture, I'm just standing here Loneliness is something that I do not fear I always feel that she's somewhere near, we're together Down through the drainpipes I spun and I spun And here flat at the bottom is where I've begun I have my moments, but now I'm low I cannot tell you why this is so Cuz all this happened so long ago, and faraway

Blue Highway 04:01
It was getting hard on me Breathing in smoke on Avenue Three, So I packed up my earthly goods And headed out straight for the haunted woods - I was up the creek and down by law, When I met her sitting pretty by a waterfall, I was so chilled to the bone, She said, come on little brother, I will take you home - On the blue highway, Blue highway - Her hair smelled like gingerbread, Her lips were full and ruby red, She said, well, what you think of me? I said, honey, I love you desperately - She said, fear not your heart's misuse, I'm wont put your head inside a hangman's noose, Oh, you may die, but don't you mind, For you will be unbound of time, On the blue highway - She kissed me sweet and we then set off, Going down the highway at the speed of thought, Right through the glitter of a New York town, Past the nighttime glowing of a burning barn - There's the world above and there's a world below, And there's a world in between them where the dreamers go, My baby and I will keep sailing on Through the bones of history to the light of dawn, Out on the blue highway -

PILGRIMS BY THE SHORE We are pilgrims by the shore Waiting for the sun to rise From the vault of heaven's door Through the quilt of eastern skies - We are weary from the fight, From the fires of ceaseless war, Now we pray for morning light, We pilgrims by the shore - Now the sky is paling slowly in streaks of light, We can see each other's eyes, how wondrous is the sight - Raise a prayer upon the wind, Let us sing so it may soar, May a kinder world begin For the pilgrims by the shore - We pilgrims by the shore- The moon was hanging low, as white as bone, She fades away at last in whispers of the dawn - Ah, the dark has almost passed, Soon the cold will sting no more, We will cross the sea at last, The pilgrims by the shore - We pilgrims by the shore -

I got a need to be changing my speed, So I'm going over, Yeah, I'm getting so tired of being weary and wired, So I'm going over - I really believe that I'm gonna take leave, Yeah, I'm going over, There's a mountain ahead, but it's like I just said, I'm going over - One soul, one mind, One step, one time, I'll wake to find to That I've never been gone , I'm already home - There ain't any shade inside the devil's arcade, So I'm going over, I've had enough so I'll be stepping it up, I'm going over - I will pay my respects to whatever comes next, I'm going over, For now I'll ride with the breeze through the cottonwood trees, I'm going over - No high, no low, No stop, no go, I'll wake to know That it's here I belong I'm already home - I pray heaven's work may get done, Cuz I'm staring straight into the sun - There's a secret to this and it's easy to miss, I'm going over, In the blink of an eye you will find you can fly, I'm going over - If you're doing your part, light will be touching your heart, I'm going over, And the light's gonna stay if you meet it halfway, I'm going over - Hold fast, hold true, Light will find you, You don't have to Go it alone, You're already home -

Fare thee well, my weary friend Fare thee well, you fortune seeker Now your road has reached its end And you must seek anew All your days have gathered close And your eyes have filled with memories Oh, the fight you've finally lost I will also lose someday Though for now my poor heart weeps I know a new day shall be dawning For the lord his promise keeps And I'll see you in the clouds All the days that we have laughed All the nights we cried together Those were stones that made our path Now you go forth alone Oh, when I let go of your hand I knew that it was not forever We must obey the lord's command And I'll see you in the clouds
